1. What impact can education in India do to improve the status of girls and women
against violence?
2. The Vaccine: Furthering a Womans Status in India
3. Indias culture has been a fascination of mine ever since I tried my first dish of Indian
food when I was about 11 years old. Although it has explicitly been portrayed to me as a
beautiful and unique country, Ive come to learn that India is in dire need of gender
equality towards women and young girls. What sparked me to choose my research
question, as stated in the first bullet, was an article I read in January of last year where a
young woman was gang-raped and later pronounced dead. I continued to research the role
women played in India and was shocked. Upon numerous cases of violence, I also found
that a strong education system, especially towards the youth, may provide India with a
new set of progressives aimed at gaining womens rights. I plan to really focus on the
sufferings from violence as my body and then conclude with education as one form of
resolution.
4. I hope to learn the different ways I can educate others about the difficulties of being a
woman in India. I would also like to see myself become more active in making a
difference after this project.
5. I know I will have trouble sticking to just the violence aspect when theres so much
more that needs to be said.
6. Aside from doing basic research on the violence women have and continue to endure, I
plan to find more women social activists to use as a tool of empowerment. I feel like
these examples can spark interest in any reader and influence them to make a change.

1. In regards to El Salvadors extreme ban on abortion, is there a solution to help the
amount of deaths caused by secret abortions?
2. Pro-death
3. Since 1998, El Salvador has held an extreme ban on abortion. If ever suspected of
aborting or creating a miscarriage, a woman in El Salvador could be incarcerated for
up to 30 years or more. Even if rape were the cause for a pregnancy, abortion would
be unlawful under any circumstances. Unfortunately, the heavy consequences
executed dont stop women from committing underground abortions. In most cases,
these arrangements often lead to deaths of the women whom are forced to seek
dangerous operations in secret. I will be focusing on the extremes that pregnant
women do in order to secretly have an abortion and the deaths that correlate with
these actions.
4. I hope to learn that there is something being done about this absurd law. I also
hope to learn that women are standing up for a change and that El Salvador and
other countries like so are able to recognize the injustice being committed.
5. I didnt find this topic until recently so I havent been able to get feedback from
anyone about it that would be helpful. I might also have too much of a bias to
understand the other side of the spectrum (the people who think this isnt injustice)
but not sure if this even matters?
6. I hope to find more statistics on the deaths associated with the underground
abortions. Id even like to learn more about El Salvadors constitution in order to
understand why the laws are so strict.
