1. What does your pre-assessment observation indicate about your students needs and
current performance and educational needs?
- Use Socrative. Ask students the questions similar to: how many planets are there? Do all the
planets have one moon or multiple moons? What planet is closest to the sun?
2. How will you design the lesson to meet the needs of all learners in your classroom?
- Follow IEP needs. Use voice recognized computer for student who is unable to type due to
orthopedic problems.
Lesson Title: Planets

3c. Evaluate and select information sources and digital tools based on the appropriateness to

Lesson Objective:
-Learn basic facts about the planets.
-Use Prezi to create a presentation based on the basic information learned.
Assessment of Learning:
- Students will be asked to create a Prezi about the things theyve learned about the planets. They
will be expected to have a minimum of five slides.

1. Discuss with students what


will be completed over the
next few days, so they have
an idea of what to expect.
2. Discuss the daily expectations
and goals. Write down on the
whiteboard each day.
Monday: Discuss what to expect

students into groups of three or four.
discuss the parameters of the
upcoming lesson.
Tuesday: Students will break into
groups and begin planet research. Each
group will be assigned a specific planet.
Wednesday: Students will
begin their prezis.
Thursday: Students will complete their
prezis. Will begin presentations.
Friday: Complete presentations.
3. Discuss the parameters of the
assignment. There should be five
slides. One introduction slide, three
body slides, and one conclusion slide.
The following things must be
addressed: name, position, number of
moons, rings, rotation. Also, discuss
what type of websites can be used.
Example: no Wikipedia, etc.
4. Break students into groups.
Assign planets to groups.
Have students use google and find
the information they need to put
into their presentations.
5. Have students go to Prezi.com and
play around with Prezi to see how it
works and to pick their layout.
6. Have students put their information
into their Prezis.
7. Have students present Prezis.
