Assessment Name: Formative
Type of Assessment: Formative
Formative Assessment: Refers to a wide variety

of methods that teachers use to conduct inprocess evaluations of student comprehension,


learning needs, and academic progress during a
lesson, unit or course. Formative Assessment
help teachers identify concepts that students are
struggling to understand, skills they are having
difficult acquiring.

Administration of Assessment
Formative Assessment is a informal method

The general goal of formative assessment is to

collect detailed information that can be used to


improve instruction and student learning while its
happening.
What makes an assessment formative its not
the design of the test technique or self-evaluation,
per se, but the way it is used- is to inform inprocess teaching and learning modifications.

Legal Consideration (Confidentiality)


Its important to assure to parents and guardians that

the childs identity is kept confidential and that you will


not release the identity of a particular child. Its also
significant to be sensitive to the parents and their
feelings regarding this topic. Parents have a hard time
coming to terms with their child personality or
disabilities and characteristics of their to make them
stand out form the others. Parents and guardians
have the option to not have their child be an
observation object, and may not their child be
observed which is their right to decline.
Do not communicate (talk, write, use non verbal
gestures) about any child to anyone other than the
person who gave you permission to

Diversity Paragraph
All people are born into specific social identities

and may acquire others as adults (e.g.,work,


marriage status, parenthood), or may even
change some (e.g., economic class gender).
Learning what our various social identities mean
is a lifetime journey that begins in toddlerhood.
Among the earliest ones that children pay
attention to are gender. (Am I a girl or a boy?)

Interactive Activities
Evaluate the person sitting next to you (Chose a

Domain)
Get in groups of five and play the Spelling game
and check your spelling to see if is any problem
with speech.
Introduce yourself to five people and see if you
can remember their names evaluating yourself in
the concept of uses acknowledge and memory.
