Planning and Assessment Guide

What is the goal of this project?

The overall goal of this project is for you to develop a web site that can serve as your personal
and professional portfolio. It is to be designed to be used as an example for your students or
employees/employers to review.

How will this project be completed?

1. Go to www.weebly.com and click on the Support tab. Review the various topics and
pay special attention to:
Beginners Guide
2. Using Weebly, create a personal website portfolio.
3. Select a professional theme for the color and feel of the web site that you prefer.
4. Create pages within your web site portfolio that include:
A blog for your comments and posts about each of your assigned cases and projects.
A personal page that describes your school and/or work experiences and the overall
purpose of the web site.
A page describing each of your projects that will be completed in EDCI 270 and links
to relevant documents that are completed for each of those projects
A resource page that includes links to relevant resources that are related to the theme
of your portfolio.
5. Include relevant graphics throughout the site to enhance its looks and help to focus
attention on the various elements.
6. Ensure that all pages are successfully linked and are easily accessed.

Assessment Criteria and Point Values:

I. Website portfolio development and presentation (65 pts.)
___A well designed home page is included that explains the purpose of the site and some relevant
information and related links about the theme content.
___ Well designed and visually appealing pages are included that effectively describe the
workout and project applications.
___Layout of the website is logical and professional
___Visual appeal and understanding are enhanced through the use of relevant graphics and/or
pictures
___Site is easy to navigate
___All links within the website work properly
II. Included projects and workouts (15 pts.)
___ All course projects and relevant workouts are described and key elements of projects are
attached/ linked within the portfolio.
___ All projects function properly (e.g., PPT project action buttons) and are formatted correctly
and free of typographical errors
III. Project narrative (20 pts.)
___ A thoughtful, well-written, 2-page narrative describing Web Portfolio Project was included
within the web site. The narrative should address:
ISTE Standards that are addressed through the development and implementation of this
project.
What was learned through the design and development of this project.
How this project could be integrated within the teaching/learning experience.
What improvements could be made to enhance the effectiveness of this project.
