Hope is a gift of our Heavenly Father with the purpose to see what our eyes cant
see. By the hope we can make everything, because the limitation is in our minds. Increase
your hope by looking for the purpose in life, because we have such a short time.

Hope has a connection to faith. These work together to complement any goal or desire.
This is the power to keep moving forward and not to give up. This attribute can be established by
the power of God. This is a quality of any disciple of Jesus Christ, because the Savior is the best
example of hope. Every single person uses his hope in different situations. For example, goals,
dreams, challenges and personal desires. The communication class was a perfect instrument to
increase this attribute, because we can accomplish anything through hope.

My accident is the best example of hope in my life. In December of 2010 while I was
giving service in the Mazateca Sierra in Oaxaca, I suffered an accident which broke my neck in
three spots. This accident happened, because I misjudged the depth of a river while jumping into
it. I lost my motor functions in my extremities, and was unable to move. Every morning I would
ask the medics, what would become of me? They would simply respond that I would spend the
rest of my life in a bed. Needless to say I never believed them, nor did I let that bring me down. I
knew that the Doctor of Doctors would be taking care of me, my suffering, my afflictions and
my dreams; so I left it in His hands, He who goes by the name of Jesus Christ.

In October of 2011, I had the privilege of moving to the United States of America, in
which I would receive better therapy. I found the American Dream when I got here; I once again
had that brightness in my eyes from knowing I was no longer alone. Here in America, Ive been

treated as one of their own; my race, language and customs have not mattered. They opened the
door for a boy who always prayed to the heavens. I have goals in life and one accident will not
be an obstacle to achieve them. My goal in my life is to have an eternal family, and be a
responsible man of my future family. Education is the most important thing to be independent
and this communication class will help me achieve this goal and further my desires.

When I started this class, I felt different kinds of fears. This is my first semester after my
injury because for the last three years, I participated in a vigorous rehabilitation program for one
year at the Neuroworx Rehabilitation clinic. Returning to school in a different culture has been a
challenge but not impossible for a child of God. Every dream or goal depends on our level of
hope because dedication and consistency are the keys to overcome everything. One of my
strengths is futuristic. In my opinion this strength has similarities with hope, because both are
focused with the future. For many years I had different plans for my future, but after my injury, I
learned the importance to put my goals, dreams, and plans in the hands of the Lord. Another
example of my strengths was positive. This attribute has a relationship with our attitude, because
the only disability in life is a bad attitude. The concept of hope is important to build this quality.
I will continue using the positive strength to impact the lives of others. Every disciple of Jesus
Christ has the duty to share his light. However, if we use this talent for the purpose of God to
build his kingdom, the windows of the heaven will be open for us.

The purpose of this class is to improve our communication and relationships with others.
With the principles of faith and hope, I found the best way to apply these qualities in my daily
life. In contrast the ability to listen is one of my weaknesses. For this reason I used my hope in

God to overcome this bad quality. I remember the class where we studied the ways to use our
hope in our work environment. Many companies are looking for qualified employees to find
solutions in any trouble. One of my goals in life is bringing happiness to the world, because I can
understand the feelings, behaviors and thoughts of any person with disabilities. I have direct
experience with similar situations, so I can suggest the best path to overcome these disasters. For
this reason Im so grateful for the opportunity to learn in this class. Interpersonal
communications are the key to build confidence with any handicap. My objective is to give the
glory and honor to God, because He prepared the path to start this goal. In addition, increasing
my ability to listen will also be important.

I have hope for a better day, where every person can use his talents to bless others. We
are the creation of God, and we are living in the same world. For this reason we need to use the
strengths of everyone to make a difference. Its never too late to be a light in the darkness and a
fundamental part of our mission is service. In addition we can be instruments of our Heavenly
Father to accomplish His purposes. I would like to share this perfect example of our strengths
working together with hope, And we know that all things work together for a good to them that
love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:29.

I hope to be able to complete my education and graduate from LDS Business College.
With the objective to become a beacon of hope for other people, so that they understand that the
only disability that exists is fear, that there is nothing that isn't possible for God and His Son. If a
quadriplegic that was in a coma and dead for three minutes is living out his dreams, then so can
anyone else. I am 25 year old guy who fights every day to stretch these broken pair of wings has

found the necessary help to become the dreamer he once was, one who knows no limits, one who
is a firm believer that every human can achieve happiness and success in life.
