influence that Hip-Hop/Rap has on the young population today. It says that the genre has
now become a way of life and that it has grown significantly since it was originated in the
1970s. I found this article by searching in it in Google. I looked for article that involved
the influence of Hip-Hop/Rap on the population. This source is credible because it was
written by a Ph.D. and the website is called Education.com, which is a website that posts
educational articles. This article is relevant to my topic because it discusses the influence
of Hip-Hop/Rap on the youth. It was published in May 2014, so it is a very recent article
that is relevant to todays youth.

for articles that discussed the history of Hip-Hop/Rap during the 1980s. This source is
credible because it is an entertainment, news, and lifestyle website that has multiple
journalists writing for it. This article is relevant to my topic because it provides

information on the history of Hip-Hop/Rap in the 1980s and how it was being publicized
by MTV.

it on Google. I was looking for article with the history of the genre from the 1990s to the
2000s and information on the lyrical content. This source is credible because a graduate
wrote it from Boston University and it was written for educational purposes. The sources
that the writer used are also credible as well. This article is relevant to my topic because it
provides information of the history of the genre from the 1990s to the 2000s and
discusses the lyrical content used in the most popular songs in the United States. It also
discusses the influence that the lyrical content had on the public.

Hip-Hop/Rap has a positive or negative affect on the behavior of kids. It narrows down
what the genre is and gives arguments to both sides of the issue. I found this argument by
searching it on Google. I was looking for an article that talked about influences of the
genre in the public. This source is credible because it was posted by the Global Post,
which is a large news publication site. This article is relevant to my topic because it
discusses whether Hip-Hop/Rap has a positive or negative affect on kids and gives
arguments to both sides.
