12-16. Academic Search Complete. Web. 16 Nov. 2014.
This cover story is used to give a personal perspective on sexual assault beyond the
interviews. Specifically, the recovery of the victim is addressed, as well as the damaging
process taken by the school board. One of the most important takeaways of this article is
to focus on helping the victim, rather than exacting justice. While prosecution is a fitting
option for many who have experienced sexual assaults, it should not be expected from all,
especially when the current justice system for rapists is sharply in their favor.

This source provides plenty of recent statistics in regards to sexual assault, and it outlines
procedures taken by college campuses for prevention of assault. The techniques outlined
in this article include social apps, zero tolerance policies, more legitimate punishment
systems, and other communal methods of prevention.
McBee, Lyndsey. Interview. 21 November 2014.
This interview gave valuable information on No Woman Left Behind, and allowed me to
elaborate more on the purpose of the different campus events it sponsors. This worked
well as a resolution to the issues previously addressed in the paper.
No Woman Left Behind Meeting. Observation.
One Student. Guide For Helping Survivors Of Sexual Offenses. Springfield: One Student, n.d.

This brochure had definitions and important statistics. Additionally, it had modern,
relevant information on resources for victims and prevention methods. Although separate
from No Woman Left Behind, this organization provided links to other helpful resources.

Norwegian Teenage Girls." BMC Public Health 14.1 (2014): 1-17. Academic Search

This study provides statistics on teen drinking and sexual assault in regards to
intoxication. The relationship between drinking and assault correlates directly to college
campuses, and provides insight into the complex issue of incapacitated sexual assault and
the responsibilities associated with it.
Petrak, Jenny, and Barbara Hedge. The Trauma Of Sexual Assault : Treatment, Prevention, And
Practice. Chichester, West Sussex, England: Wiley, 2002. eBook Collection Practice
(EBSCOhost). Web. 12 Nov. 2014.

This book provides plenty of information on the psychological impact of sexual assault
on its victims, and gives more insight into the lives of victims as they attempt to cope
with such a physically, mentally, and emotionally damaging event. This book also covers
misconceptions about rape, treatment options for victims of sexual assault, and methods
of prevention for the future. The nature of this book is surprisingly personal and often
subjective, although tastefully so.
Watkins, Katherine. Interview. 30 November 2014.
This was my most effective source from a narrative standpoint. A detailed account of
Katies story made it easy to address the misconceptions of sexual assault, and give a
victims perspective on the flawed legal process.
