Pneumatology

I believe in the Deity of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit possesses four distinctively
Divine attributes, Omnipresence, Omniscience, Eternity, & Omnipotence. The Holy
Spirits Omnipresence is described in Psalm 139:7-10. The Holy Spirits Omniscience is
described in 1 Cor 2:10,11. The Holy Spirit is described as Eternal in Heb 9:14. The Holy
Spirit is described as Omnipotence in Luke 1:35. The Holy Spirit is God, equal in power,
attributes, and in a constant union glorifying the Father and the Son.
The Holy Spirits divine works such as the act of Creation as described in Gen 1:2, Job
33:4; His acts of redemption as described in Isa 63:10-11, Eph 4:30, 1 Cor:12:13; and His
performance of miracles as described in Gal 3:2-5. Heb 2:4; and the bestowal of
supernatural gifts as described in Acts 1:4 and 1 Cor. 12:11 all indicate that the Holy
Spirit performs acts of Deity.
I believe in the Personhood of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has a mind. He is
described as being a teacher in John 14:26 and having thoughts in 1 Cor. 2:11. The Holy
Spirit also intercedes for us in prayer as described in Rom. 8:26
I believe in the Procession from the Father & the Son. In John 16:7 a clear distinction
is drawn between Jesus who goes away to the Father and the Holy Spirit who comes from
the Father to take His place. Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage
that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will
send him to you. A similar distinction is drawn in Acts 2:33 Being therefore exalted at
the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy
Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing. So the Holy
Spirit is sent from the Father as well as the Son. Again and again the Bible draws the
clearest possible distinction between the three Persons, the Holy Spirit, the Father, and
the Son. They are three separate personalities, having mutual relations to one another,
acting upon one another, and speaking of or to one another.
I believe in the works of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was part of the creation of the
world. Gen 1:2, and He was also part of the creation of life, Job 33:4. The Spirit of God
has made me, and the breath of the Almighty gives me life. He convicts unbelievers of
sin as described in John 16:8. He regenerates and renews us as described in Titus 3:5, and
he seals believers till the day of redemption as described in Eph 4:30
I believe in the Indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I believe that the Holy Spirit indwells
both believers, unbelievers, carnal and spiritual men alike to serve Gods purpose. The
Holy Spirits ministry to believers is different then that of the Old Testament. Since the
coming of Christ, I believe that when the natural man turns to God, and receives Christ as
his personal Lord and Savior, that the Holy Spirit indwells the believer from that moment
forward and does not depart.
