The Chorus 2006 wine from the Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and other varietals grown in the Thermenregion of Lower Austria. It has aromas of cassis and vanilla with chocolate and coffee flavors, and good length and aging potential. The oenologist notes its juicy fruit and well-integrated oak character, solid structure, and ability to age. The grapes come from individual vineyard sites like Stiftsbreite with shallow, warm gravelly soil that the estate has cultivated for centuries.

Chorus 2006 from the Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate
consists mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, which is married here to Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Pinot Noir and St. Laurent: Dark ruby red, elegant aromas of cassis and vanilla, with a hint of roasted aromas, fruity-sweet and balanced, wonderful chocolate and coffee flavours. A wine with good length and great potential.
Our oenologist Christian Schmidt on the Chorus 2006: »Juicy
melting fruit and a well-integrated wood aroma characterise this Cuvée. A wine of fine, solid stature and great potential which shouldn’t be enjoyed too young.«
On the variety and origins of this wine:
Tattendorf, located in Lower Austria’s Thermenregion, is home to some of Austria’s best sites for producing red wine – and several of these are worked by the Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate. Shallow, warm brown earth soils, in which the gravel reaches up to the surface in many places, give the Steinfeld (»Stone Field«) its name.
