Manitowoc: Mayor Justin M. Nickels announced today that the winter parking ban will
be suspended temporarily beginning the evening of 12/22/2014 (Monday) and
reinstated the evening of 01/02/2015 (Friday).

Ordinance 10.101(1) Parking Regulated December 1 to March 31 (Winter Parking Ban): There shall be no parking
on all marked state or federal highways, county trunk highways, city bus routes, any industrial truck routes specified in
Section 10.14, in any municipal parking lot (with the exception of leased stalls) or in other designated streets in the City
of Manitowoc during the months of December, January, February and March of each year between the hours of 1:00
a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

Parking will be allowed between the hours of 1:00am and 6:00am on all marked streets
during this time-frame ONLY (unless otherwise noted as no parking all other parking
laws apply EX: 2 hour downtown between specific hours).

IMPORTANT NOTE: A parking ban may be implemented by the Mayor during this
temporary suspension if inclement weather occurs. Please be aware of this and check
your local news stations, the citys website (www.manitowoc.org) or contact the
Mayors Office.

The purpose for this temporary parking ban suspension is to accommodate the
expected holiday traffic (friends and family visiting) to allow residents and visitors to
park overnight and to encourage responsible driving over the holiday season,
specifically on New Years Eve (expected higher turnout than normal evenings)*.
Please leave your car overnight if you are not able to drive home and find a responsible
driver leave your car overnight without fear of receiving a parking ticket. The weather
over the next 10-days appears to be reasonable to accommodate this action.
*This is anticipated to be an annual occurrence all dependent upon weather predications in following years. This is only
because of the holidays. Suspension of bans will not occur for other purposes/accommodations.
