A new SONY Biotechnology

training course to be launched


May 2015!

EPICOR is an Enterprise Resource Planning


(ERP) platform, that offers a single end-to-end
solution for businesses. (www.epicor.com).
Utilizes a modular approach.
Robust capabilities.

All business transactions are to be completed in


EPICOR.
Helps to reduce costs, streamline processes,
and improve response time.
Fosters continued growth and profitability.

A training course that will cover basic navigation


of the platform.
Areas to be covered include:

Inventory Management
Sales Order Management
Service Order Management

2 days of in-class instruction.

Course is applicable to all SONY Biotechnology


employees.
Target audience consists of an equal number of
men to women.
All have advanced degrees.
None have prior EPICOR experience, but are
familiar with similar databases.

Employees will understand the necessity of


proper inventory management.
Employees will be able to accurately access the
availability of any part.
Employees will be able to successfully receive
new inventory.

Employees will be able to successfully issue


existing inventory to non-standard orders without
error.

Employees will be able to successfully manage


both the sales and service order process, from
beginning to end.
Employees will be able to accurately enter sales
orders received via email, fax, and/or computer
without error.
Employees will be able to successfully create
purchase orders for reagents provided by our
vendor for sales order fulfillment without error.
Employees will be able to fulfill all service orders,
from receipt to shipment, submitted by our field
engineers without error.

through many different strategies.

A variety of technologies with all be utilized.

Total time: 2 days, 8:00 am 5:00 pm each day.


Two 15-minute breaks in mid-morning and late
afternoon
1-hour lunch break

Day 1: EPICOR overview and Inventory


Management.
Day 2: Sales Order Management, Service Order
Management, and final review.

Employees with be sent an email outlining the


course: its description, goals, and objectives.
Table tents will be placed on all tables in the
cafeteria as a reminder, and to peak interest.
Course fliers will be placed throughout the
floor.
Poster boards will be strategically placed
around the office.

Official meeting invites will be sent to gauge


interest and make identify how many sessions
we will need to hold.
Each main session will be focused on one
group or department, with a make-up session
open to all if necessary.
Training will be required, and courses will be
assigned if none are voluntarily selected by
August 2015.

Formative assessments will allow us to measure


the effectiveness of our course design and
delivery.
These assessments are done a random times
throughout the span of the course.
Types of assessments include: observation,
discussions, Q&A, hands-on application,
quizzes, and simulations.
