Introduction

Meditation has its roots in both the East and the


West.
It is a spiritual rather than a religious practice.
The word Meditation means to centre the self.
There are many different styles of Meditation.

What is Meditation ?

Meditation is a tool for relaxation.

It is a way of tuning in to yourself.

It can help you gain greater self awareness.

Meditation calms the mind.

Why Meditate ?
High levels of stress can create health
problems:

high blood pressure


headaches
insomnia
depression

1. Find somewhere warm and
quiet, where you wont be
disturbed.
2. Sit comfortably, a straight
back chair or on the floor is
best.
3. Close your eyes and focus on
your breathing.
