they can be addressed through alternative serving options and adaptive utensils or equipment
Worked with a speech therapist and registered dietitian to determine the eating abilities of new
residents as well as meal preferences and possible food allergies or health conditions
Mixed and tested a variety of thickening agents to reduce the risk of choking in elderly patients
Attended patient care plan meetings that addressed individual needs and recommended practices
that could be enacted to make sure the resident is comfortable throughout his stay at the facility
Conducted hydration interviews with certain patients to assess the amount of liquids consumed in
a set time period; the result was then communicated to the nursing and nutrition staff for
continued observation
