I am Christ the Redeemer, and I tower over the city of Rio de Janeiro, in Brazil.

I have suffered
much throughout the years, yet I still stand overwatching the town I was build to watch. It took
the humans 9 years to create me starting in the 1920s. I'm an astounding 98 feet tall, and have
an armspan of 92 feet. I want everyone to know that i will accept anyone as they are and will
love them. It is strange however, I feel as if I am from a different land, like my stones came from
a land known as Sweden. This isnt the only material I'm made of, I also have a layer of
soapstone and concrete around me to protect me from the elements around me. I would have
suffered major damage throughout the years if I had not had this extra layer of skin. I was not
the only idea of a statue to be built, but I was chosen for my symbolism. One of the others would
have been me holding up the globe, but this idea was scrapped along with others in favor of my
current form. Many people visit me throughout the year, some for religious reasons, others
simply to gaze upon my glorious form and structure. I have had many things happen to me over
the years. In 1980, I was rigorously cleans in order to be presentable to a man I have never
heard of, as everyone referred to him as Pope John Paul II. I suffered much damage in 2008. I
was struck by lightning and hand my eyebrows singed off, and my fingers just kinda fell off. I
then sat this way until some Humans were nice enough to heal my injuries. This I believe
happened in 2010. The stones used to repaire me seemed to feel the same was as the rest of
me, so it seems like it originated from the same place as the rest of me. I was not built in Brazil.
I built in pieces in France, because the French believed that the people in brazil could not build
a statue as great as they would. My head along is made of 50 individual parts, and it also

weighs 30 tonnes. On the seventh day of the seventh month of the two thousand and seventh
year, I became one the things the humans refer to as the Seven wonders of the world. I also
come in handy as a means to assist in travel. From the city, the right of me points towards
south, while the left points north. If I were to be built today, I would cost nearly 3.2 million USD
to produce, however at the time I would have only cost 250000 USD. The fact that this money
all come from the Catholic community was almost great enough to bring tears to my eyes, if I
could cry that is. I look forward to seeing the world grow and change around me.
