Complete documents for the cranes: provide: inspection certificate of crane, operators
license, vehicle registration, the operators certificate, and the driving license.
Frequent inspection and proper maintenance (records up to date).
Safety Awareness: the operator and rigger must read load chart to recognize: the safe
allowable Load/ working length of boom, and boom angles.
Authorized lifting personnel: qualified: crane operator, rigger, and signal person.
Positioning & ground stability: crane must be on a firm surface/level ground.
Safe Lifting gears (such as: buckles, shackles, slings, alike): free of defects.
Proper set-up: outriggers fully extended and supported with outrigger pads/matting.
Safe Load (SWL): must be properly and securely rigged by the certified rigger, do not move
loads over workers, and only vertical loads allowed, and maintain SWL.
Barricading for lifting area (caution area) with warning signs and notices: areas inside the
cranes swing radius.
Safe singling: view of crane operator not obstructed and working with rigger.
Swinging protection: using suitable line or tag line.
Overturned protection: stable base for the crane, no work in wind speed.
Electrocution protection: e.g. Height barricading, crane grounding, and de-energized
lines. Electric overhead lines must leave safe overhead vertical clearance from the lines.
Proper means of communications: e.g. hand signals and radio.
PPE: boots, helmets, gloves, and Hi Vis.
Never leave crane with engine running or load suspended.

Total Weight of Load = Actual load weight + lifting attachments (including: crane hook, slings, and
shackles).

"The further the load from the center of the crane, the less weight it can lift"
