Homework: Students should expect to have homework every night through the www.quia.com online activities. Those
who do not have access to internet at home will be able to check out a workbook from the schools librarian and
complete their work on a separate piece of paper. Students are expected to also spend time at home studying the current
vocabulary and grammar for a minimum of 10 minutes per night. Online homework must be submitted by the assigned
due date. Physical work must be turned in during the students period on the due date. Late homework is not accepted.
Students who are absent must go to SchoolLoop to find the work that they missed and complete it by the due date.
*In case of SchoolLoop or Quia or computer issues, students must turn in a filled out Homework Complications form to
the teacher on the day that the homework was to be submitted. If a student fails to do so, the zero may not be recovered.
Classwork: Classwork includes written and spoken work in class. A large portion of the grade in the classwork category
will be in the form of each days activities, games, and oral. Students will be graded on their attempt at completing the
work in the allowed time plus the corrections made after reviewing the material. Students who are absent MUST go to
SchoolLoop to make the missed activities.
Quizzes & Exams: There will be periodic quizzes on relevant vocabulary and grammar topics. Students will be notified of
upcoming quizzes and tests at least one week prior to the scheduled date. There will be a chapter exam at the end of each
chapter in the book. There will be a cumulative final exam at the conclusion of the course.
Make-ups of Exams: If absent on the day of a quiz or exam, it is the students responsibility to schedule a make-up with
the teacher. The test must be taken within one week of the students return. Make-ups will be offered on Tuesday at
lunch in room 1200 only. Online tests and quizzes must be taken in room 1200. Students can expect their makeup grade
to show within a time frame of 1 to 2 weeks. If a student fails to make the missed assessment up within the allowed week,
they will receive a 5 point deduction on the total grade.
