Biography Project
We will be studying important people in history for the next chapter in Social Studies. In
Writing, we are going to create a biography project. There will be enough time to complete the
entire project during class. However if you would like to do the poster project aspect at home,
you are more than welcome to. Please read over this information and sign and return it ASAP
so I know you are aware of this project. This will count as a Social Studies Test Grade and a
Writing Piece Grade for the 3rd nine weeks.
Part 1 Research
Write the name of your important person in history. _____________________________
Mrs. Gold has already checked out a book for all of the important people in history. You will
read the book independently one day. The next day, you will reread the book and fill in the
graphic organizer.
Part 2 Write four paragraphs. Now you are going to have to write four paragraphs.
Provide Closure
o Death Date
o What was the most important thing that this person did, in your opinion?
Part 3 Poster Project. You will create a poster with a large picture of what your important
person looks like. You will need to cut a hole where the face would go so that you can put your
head there (see the image below as an example).
Poster Requirements:
A picture (printed or drawn) that relates to the person (It can be a picture of your
person or something they did.)
Part 4 Present Your Biography Project. After all of the previous parts of the project are
complete, you will present your project to the class. You will not be reading your biography
that you wrote. Instead you will be sharing bits and pieces of it with the class.
The Presentation Needs to Include:
