Sub Plans Mrs.

Ileana Visea
for the week of 1/12-14/2015
Thank you for taking over for me! I hope you have a great experience with my students, and I hope you will
help them complete the work as described below. You will be seeing 5 sections of mixed 11th and 12th grade
students, for physics. Please follow these lesson plans as closely as possible. Leave detailed notes for me;
including star students and disruptive students. Phone number you may need to know: Main office: 2000, Mrs.
Arrington will respond to your needs (see list of phones on the wall, on your left by the desk).
Attendance lists and the updated seating charts are on the clip board. Ask students to stay in their assigned seats.
For taking attendance use the yellow instructions paper on the wall, on your left, by teacher's desk. all materials
mentioned in the plans below, are already available in the room, in stacks, identified with a sticky note that
reads "Day 1.." so they should be easy to identify.

PLEASE READ ALOUD THESE INSTRUCTIONS TO MY STUDENTS, ON A DAILY

BASIS, AS THEY NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE EXPECTATIONS BASED ON WHICH
THEY WILL BE GRADED ARE. ALL HANDOUTS WILL BE ON MY WEBSITE
http://viseaphysics.weebly.com
For all classes :
a. day 1 (1/12/2015) - all students have to work on midterm exam review packet. This
must not be collected. They will be graded on a daily basis, based on participation (if
on task, if working with their group members) with 15 points. Assign them the Unit 1
part, to complete in groups of four-five students (I suggest the groups should be based
on the seating chart, per each table; if you let them pick their group members, time will
be spent on choosing members and moving, and the risk is they will not focus on the
task, rather on talking to their friends).
- Unit 1 part (14 questions), give them ten minutes to work within their group, and then
check the answers as a class (ask the students to take turns in naming their choice, and
correct if needed using the answer document);
- next, assign them Unit 2 (Kinematics) first 10 questions for eight minutes, and check
as a class following the same procedure;
- continue with questions 11- 20 for eight minutes, and check as a group. Assign the
rest of Unit 2 as homework.
My Teacher Assistant (TA) student (Nique) will use the answer key to check the Skate
basic park lab hand-out as directed on the answer key document (she should mark how
many incorrect answers were identified). (Mrs. Jensen will give her the answer key
during 6th hour).
b. day 2 (1/13/2015)
- you will begin the class with checking the homework (check only for completion; on
the attendance sheet mark only who did not complete; I will use this to grade students);
- continue with using the answer key to read the correct choices for the homework so
they can check their own work, as a class;
- you will continue the midterm review with Unit 3: working with partners, students
must answer the first ten questions ( eight minutes); check answers as a class (ask the

students to take turns in naming their choice, and correct if needed using the answer
document);
- continue with questions 11-30 (small group work, 12 minutes); check for correctness,
as a class, using the same procedure; assign the rest of the Unit 3 as homework if no
time to continue in class.
My Teacher Assistant (TA) student (Nique) will finish checking the Skate basic park
virtual lab papers. Leave them on my desk so I can grade when I return.
c. day 3 (1/14/2015)
- you will begin the class with checking the homework (check only for completion; on
the attendance sheet mark only who did not complete; I will use this to grade students);
- continue with using the answer key to read the correct choices for the homework so
they can check their own work, as a class;
- you will continue the midterm review with Unit 4 as follows: working with partners,
students must answer the 30 questions ( 20 minutes); check answers as a class (ask the
students to take turns in naming their choice, and correct if needed using the answer
document);
- wrap up this review with accessing my website, and showing the students the review
documents, just in case they need to check answers again.
My Teacher Assistant (TA) student (Nique) will run copies of the next part for review,
the one regarding problem solving. Mrs. Jensen will provide the master copy.
