Introduction
Lesson Development
This lesson is to be conducted by both direct and indirect instruction. Teacher
must speak clearly and in a way that makes each character distinct from the
other. Making sure that no child has to strain to see the book that is being
read. During the individual section of this lesson the teacher is to observe, and
when help is needed assist the students who require it.
Differentiation
Understanding
(Assessment)
Supervised Assessment: The first part of the lesson, which is reading the
stories, will be done directly by the teacher. Questions asked will be observed
and recorded in each students individual notes for the week. Children who
need redirection for attention and for questions asked will have that noted.
Individual Assessment: This Activity will also involve an art project at the end
of the Unit, this will be done with minimal supervision. The teacher will
observe how the children utilize the art materials to assess fine motor skills.
Closing
The importance of this lesson lays in the children's understanding of the story.
Giving them the opportunity to develop the ability to come to their own
conclusions about the story at hand. It also is designed to help gain group
communication skills. These stories are all winter or snow related.
