EU grant scheme for the North

The European Union Office in Kosovo is seeking proposals which objective is to support socio-economic
development of northern Kosovo through improving basic municipal infrastructure and therefore directly
impacting alleviation of unemployment, strengthening agriculture, environment, business and civil
society sector, with a view to improving economic situation, social cohesion, integration and cooperation.
The specific objectives of this Call for Proposals are:

Support to commercial farms to restructure through financing of investments aiming at

growth of income, employment generation and compliance with standards for
environmental protection, public health, animal health and welfare, and occupational
safety and to support the upgrade of agri-food establishments, to improve processing and
marketing, hygiene, quality and food safety standards and environmental protection in the
dairy, meat, cereal and fruit and vegetable processing.

Support economic regeneration and creation of favourable economic development

conditions and infrastructure in the Northern Municipalities, including, support to
municipalities in developing/improving basic infrastructure facilities and services,
support to micro, small and medium enterprises in developing and expanding business
capacities
including
establishment/improvement
of
products,
services,
production/processing capacities, knowledge and service delivery capacities.

To strengthen the role of civil society in (local) governance processes and service
delivery by enabling them to actively participate in policy making and dialogue processes
and address the social, cultural and educational needs of their communities.
