Writing Persuasive Essay

Learning Objective:

We are learning how to convince an audience of an opinion,

point of view or idea (thesis) in writing, in the form of a persuasive essay
Success Criteria:
Must have a clear opinion, idea or point of view you are trying to convince others
Contains an introduction, 3 support statements and a conclusion
Introduction introduces your point of view statement (opinion / idea) and briefly
state your supporting arguments
Body has the three supporting statements and they have been expanded on by
giving examples, stats or evidence
Conclusion restates your point of view statement and a brief recap of your 3
supporting arguments
Ideas are organized and easy to follow
Proper grammar rules and punctuation
