THE DIRECTION TO PROPAGATE BUDDHISM


BY USING MARKETING METHODOLOHY
Abstract
This research has objective to create direction for Buddhism propagation using marketing
methodology. The research results affirm that we can use marketing to support Buddhist propagation.
In Buddhas time, there was a way of using the wide range of marketing techniques and more superior
than all other religions at that period. Today there are many Buddhist organizations that serve in
successful propagation of Buddhism by using the marketing method such as the Vimuttalayalai
Institute, The Dhammakaya temple and Sathira Dhammasathan. All of the resulted data from SWOT
Analysis can guide the direction of propagation Buddhism using marketing methods which consists of
7Ps.: 1) Product 2) Personnel 3) Process 4) Physical Evidence 5) Promotion 6) Place 7) Price.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF SUBJECTS IN PRIMARY AND


SECONDARY EDUCATION CURRICULA IN CONNECTION
TO BUDDHIST ISSUES
Abstract
The study found that the old curricula had focused on the Scriptures and practice more than
modern days curricula. It covered not only the theories, but also the how-to. The earlier curricula also
emphasized the Sila under the Threefold Learning and, though very little coverage on Samadhi, it did
underline methods to cultivate true wisdom. It is worth noting that the Thai language classes in the

earlier days had a broader integration with the training in higher wisdom (Pannasikkha)
than the subject
of Buddhism itself. However, the training in concentration (Samadhisikkha) is lacking. From the perspective
of Buddhism, the curricula are not as complete when considering the practice aspect of the training. As
a result, it can be concluded that all of the education curricula has had only partial ingetration into the
Buddhist Scriptures and practice.

MONKS RIGHTS UNDER CRIMINAL LAW


Abstract
This research examines the state in which the rights of monks originated under criminal law.
Monks are citizens of a country. However, the rights of the monk under criminal law are unclearin terms
of the procedure taken for monks who commit crime. This causes problem of how monks reserve
the rights under such law. Therefore, this thesis will study and analyze rights of monks under criminal
law and provide recommendations for improvement of the Clergy Act in order to clarify rights of the
monk under criminal law and decrease under criminal law become clearer and problems arising from
unclear lawful rights of monks.
This study is a qualitative research in law. Criminal procedures taken for monks committing
crime, including, arrest, inquiry, criminal prosecution, hearing, judgment and punishment, was studied
and analyzed. The Clergy Act, Criminal Code, books, papers and researches were studied and interviews
with experts on rights of monks under criminal law were conducted.
Research findings revealed that rights of monks under criminal law were not clear and
stipulated in a systematic manner. It was only stated that arrests, inquiries, prosecution, judgment
process and punishment of monks should be done in a gentle way. This is different from criminal law
of the Peoples Democratic Republic of Laos, where monks must go through monastic procedure before
being prosecuted under criminal law. This added more layers to procedure.
After a through study, it was determined that rights of monks under criminal law had to be
clearly stated when it came to disrobement, testifying and being held as defendants. During criminal
prosecution, a place should be allocated for monks. Finally, monastic court should be established to
eliminate ambiguity and complexity of present practices.
