Will AAP win Delhi election again?
The political weather of Delhi is getting hotter with every drop in the temperature of Delhis weather. Since the
announcement of Delhi elections there is a question in everyones mind if AAP will win the coming election. It was
nearly a year ago when emergence of AAP changed the political landscape of Delhi. Till then the battleground has
been a two-way contest between congress and BJP. AAP won 28 out of 70 assembly seats in the last election which
changed the equation of Delhis politics. The people of Delhi saw a ray of hope in AAP and considered it to be a
political alternative which would be incorruptible, pro-growth, and most importantly pro-people. The AAP
government started with a bang and made some big changes within few days of its office. Before they could make
some substantial progress, Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, quit from the 49 day CM position. Though
according to Arvind Kejriwal, he had to quit the office out of political compulsion from the opposition but it was
evident that AAP wanted to concentrate on Lok Sabha elections. This really dented the image of AAP among the
people of Delhi. They felt cheated and the anger was evident in the Lok Sabha results. Now after a year, the major
contestant still remains the same AAP and BJP but equation seems to have changed between the two parties. While
BJP is strengthened by the strong leadership at the centre, AAP is battling for its existence. This election will
essentially define the future course for AAP. In order to turn themselves to strong contestant they need to reposition
themselves in the minds of people and prove their worth. They have to make people believe that they are politically
mature now, still intact with their values and ready to handle Delhi better than any other party. Of course it is not
going to be an easy task but certainly interesting to watch. Till then all we can do is wish them All the Best!
