About Lynda
Lynda has been involved in dog sports for many years, actually entered her first
obedience fun matches in 1975 with her German Shepherd, Ben. Lynda has had
numerous successes with her dogs in conformation, obedience & agility. Her
Belgian Shepherds took her to new heights for the awareness of learning skills of
training that helped bring her relationship with her dogs to a higher level. Because
each of them had dierent training challenges, from shyness to reactiveness, she
quickly learned that all dogs do not come from the same mold and needed to have
some skills taught to them in dierent ways. Lynda also is a strong believer in the
student and the dog must feel safe in their learning environment to be able to learn.
She believes in building the team from the ground up. Placing emphasis on
keeping the dog grounded mentally so that learning can take place. If the impulse
control is taught first then the teaching of the flat / ground work falls into place
followed by easy transition to the master level of working with your dog. Lynda
loves to work with people to help them remember they have a dog with them when
they step up to the line, to help give them the skills of staying connected to the dog.
Lynda has been teaching since 1999, first obedience then agility. She has trained with some of the top
agility instructors / competitors in Canada and the US. She believes in continuous education for the sport
of agility and finds it fascinating on how much the sport has progressed since she began.
In 2011 they built a 60x100 heated training facility which allows her to teach classes all year with at least
5 classes during the week, weekends are busy with teaching and hosting seminars.
