Qigong inspirations

Lava and Qigong

Aloha!
I wanted to share a little story about the eight phrases that I mentioned in the last letter.
They are a powerful way to bring yourself into alignment. You can use the eight phrases
as a practice on its own, you can use just one phrase over and over if it is helpful.
I recently took a hike out to where the lava is running into the ocean. I took the photo
above right after I crossed over the lava and then looked back this is what we had just
walked over, slightly higher up, where it had hardened 2 or 3 minutes before, where the
ground was still very hot and every crack was red.
Let me back track a little - it was not my intention to go quite this far. Last trip to the
lava, I stopped right BEFORE it got hot. But all of a sudden, this hike, without quite
realizing it, I was on hot lava. We continued forwards to where it was cooler (between
two lava flows).
Here I was, in the incredible presence and power of Pele. Lava spewing from the depths
of the Earth, pouring into the ocean. The incredible raw energy of all the elements
fire, water, steam billowing up the cliffs and land being created in the form of lava and
a black sand beach, instantly created by the forces.
But, even with this power, it was hard to be present. You see, I was fully aware that to
get back out, I had to again cross where the lava was running. So, to still myself, so that
I could be fully present in the experience and be in total awe, I recited the eight phrases
in my mind. And I did La Chi, which both quieted me and enabled me to be one with
where I was. Not in fear, but in the incredible beauty and power of nature.

After a couple of hours, the sun had long risen and it was time to leave, but, I still had to
get out. And to do so, I had to recross the hot lava, which was precarious to say the
least. I was very aware of how much I really love my feet!
As I neared where it was hot, I got very quiet inside, knowing I would be safe. Haola
already accomplished. And I recited the eight phrases over and over internally.
1. Ding Tian, Li Di (The top of the head reaches to heaven, the posture is in the Earth.)
2. Xing Song, Yi Chong. (Body relaxes, mind expands.)
3. Wai Jing, Nei Jing (Outside is respectful, inside is quiet, tranquil)
4. Xin Cheng, Mao Gong (When the heart and mind are clear, the appearance is humble)
5. Yi Nian Bu Qi (Empty your mind)
6. Shen Zhu Tai Kong (expand your mind out into the universe)
7. Shen Yi Zhao Ti ( our mind from the universe illuminates our body)
8. Zhou Shen rong rong (the whole body is totally harmonized with qi.)
Many old, limiting patterns were changed that day fear of death, though more, a fear
of living fully, and fear of fear itself. Fear was changed, transmuted and replaced with
the positive, empowering information of the eight phrases.
In future inspirations, I will explain more deeply the meaning of each phrase and how it
can be used to grow our hearts, to help us be internally aligned and to manifest a reality
of what we truly want.

The chi field that we have used (with Luke's teaching) synthesized a lot of the
understanding of expansion and coming into the body to set the chi field. But the
element that truly helped me on the lava was contained in the energy of phrase number
three (which is in Dr. Pang Ming's original sentences) Outside is respectful (in that power of creation, you had better be respectful!) , but the
key was inside is tranquil, quiet.
I had internalized the practice of the eight phrases by practice, practice, practice. I use
them every day, to facilitate my inner alignment, and they were there when I needed
their help in more extreme circumstances.
With love and Aloha,
Priya
