Excellencies:
Following instructions of my Govemment, I am pleased to express our intent to
join the Open Government Partnership. Peru reaffirms its commitment to open
‘government efforts in both principle and practice. President Ollanta Humala has stated as
‘one of his priorities enhance transparency, fight against corruption, improve
accountability and increase civic engagement. We look forward to learning from other
nations who are excelling in these areas.
The Goverment of Peru will be represented at the highest levels during the OGP
Launch meetings on the margins of the UN General Assembly latter this month. We
look forward to developing our country action plan with civil society in anticipation of
the follow-on Summit next March in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
‘Thank you for your leadership on this effort, We are pleased to join the OGP co-
chairs and Stecring Committee governments in setting a new standard for governance in
the 21 century.
