Procedure
1. Introduce Research Project (10 minutes)
Teacher will introduce the new class book, Night, and briefly speak about
the memoir. Teacher will then introduce the research project to students and
present the following information on a Google Presentation
(https://docs.google.com/presentation):
Research Topics:

o Judaism
o The Nazi Party
o The Nuremburg Laws

Individual Research Requirements:
o Use at least three credible websites
o Write fifteen key facts about topic
o Find four quality photographs
o Find at least one diagram
o A short video clip (30 seconds or less)
Teacher will then post the syllabus (posted below) and explain the expectations
for student research and Keynote slides.
2. Team Planning (5 minutes)
Students will be placed in teams of three. The teacher will have one member
from each team come and select a topic from a hat. Teams will create a team
Google doc (https://drive.google.com), come up with a plan of action, and write
down specific areas of research for each team member.
3. Research (25 minutes)
Students will use their laptops to research their topic and complete the individual
requirements. They will compile their information on their team Google doc
and include the links to the websites they used for their research.
4. Organize, Summarize Information (10 minutes)
Students will organize their research into clear categories (links to websites,
images, diagram, video clip, and list of facts). Students will then write a short
paragraph summarizing their information and reflecting on their research
process
5. Create Keynote Slides (15 minutes)
Students will create two to three Keynote slides using their research information.

Students will be sure to clearly organize their information and use their images
to enhance each slide.
6. Compile Team Keynote Presentation (10 minutes)
Students will share their slides with their teammates and compile these into a
team Keynote presentation. Students will check the work of their peers and
make any necessary corrections (spelling, grammar, content). Students will
arrange slides in a logical order.
