Chapter 1

The picture of me playing soccer is an example of me answering God's call story to me. This
picture was taken in game while playing soccer with my club: Toronto High Park FC. This photo
represents my love and passion for soccer and how my passion for this sport is connected with God.
The photo shows me passing a ball to one of my team mates and we ended up winning the game 5 1
to advance to the finals of the Ontario Cup tournament and win it ultimately.
By playing soccer God has revealed himself to me. Usually before every game I play, I focus
and clear all useless thoughts that will corrupt my mind while speaking to God. I connect with God and
say a small prayer to hi for good luck and future success' in life. This article relates to the expectations
of: explaining the Catholic understanding of the Bible as Gods self-revelation, the use appropriate
exegesis to analyze Scripture; and to identify the role of Scripture in ethical and moral decisionmaking. God talks to me through soccer and I express my love and I feel the best while playing soccer,
and I feel like I am revived after playing soccer. I spread God's Love and Ways to other people, and try
to be a good role-model. I feel like a new person, in which it is in my duty to live the Way. This call
from God helps me with my ethical and moral decision making due to my call from God. In my
personal relationship with God, when I have this call before my games, it inspires my to do Good and
make positive ethical and moral decision's just like a regular Call Story in the Bible. For example St.
Paul's Call Story. St. Paul experienced a revelation when Jesus appeared to him as a blinding light.
After this revelation St. Paul started following and spread God's Ways. St fall felt guilt after Jesus
talked to him. I feel the same way when I do bad deeds/sins throughout my life, but feel rejuvenate and
having a motive in doing good for the better of others, myself and God. I would like to let people know
that they are breaking rules, doing wrong things and sinning, just like the Prophets. I feel like by
playing soccer, I am making a difference to someone positively, just like to Prophets. When I make that
small prayer God, I get a really good feeling going through my body mentally and physically.
We have touched upon these expectations during class by doing homework, watching
informative videos (such as St. Paul's Call Story), working on Power Points, participating in class
discussions and doing assignments. A couple of assignments that relates to this topic from Chapter 1
are: the Interpreting Scripture Assignment and the Personal Faith and Development Journal. We also
used examples of Prophets and there call story's such as Moses' call story and Isaiah's Call Story. W
would later discuss and relate the Call Story's to everyday life and analyzing the Call Story.
I found this unit pretty satisfying, but it wasn't my favorite. Unit 2 is my favorite unit we've
worked on. One of the most interesting topics we've learned during this unit was watching the videos
on Jesus' life and St. Paul's call story. I was really interested and learned a lot of Call Story's and the
History of the Church. Sometimes the Power Point presentations where a bit tedious, repetitive and
boring but overall this unit was enjoyable. Is it possible to go on a informative trip where we study
Toronto Churches like the St. Michael's Cathedral in downtown Toronto.
