Analyze &
Reflect

How is it applicable to
education? Where
would you use it?
(subject, topic, grade)
What steps would you
take to integrate it?
How could you
introduce it?

-Teachers can make their content entertaining

and engaging
-media class advertisements, marketing tool,
tv ads- if they are able to make their own they
will be able to analyze other media ads.
-language digital storytelling
-when students are able to explore and
experience these devices they are better apt at
critically analyzing media
-I would introduce it in math info graphs
social studies
-I would show them the intro, go through the
tutorial together and then give them the option
of exploring a template.
-school/education templates with book reports,
student resumes, even a missions template to
make learning fun
-real world product introduction/ launch it is
becoming an entrepreneurial world after all
-remind students nothing is ever private even if
they do not decide to export their video; include

Personal or
professional uses? For
what purpose/
audience? What
resources/ supports are
available? Will you use
it, sign up or open an
account? Why or why
not? How does it
respond to social
justice issues
(equitable access, etc)

Personal tell your story, show people how to

do something, invitations for events
Professional data charts, work place goals,
resume, work goals, -training videos, sales pitch,
infographs
-unfortunately you are limited to different tools
unless an account is purchased not worth
paying for when there are other tools similar to
this one and there enough animations and
templates available with a free account
-I would use it; its easy, fun, interactive, add
countless images, effects, sounds and
animations. Students love animation and so do
adults; its great to keep them focused.
-The skills students learn now from using
PowToon will support them in their future
careers
-Powtoon is giving everyone an opportunity to
market their product, invention, even idea for
free-its giving everyone a voice!
Template - Access, Create, Analyze, Reflect, Practice Social Responsibility
(Adapted by H. DeWaard from R. Hobbs, Digital and Media Literacy: Connecting Culture and Classroom, Corwin
Press, 2011.)

If a picture speaks a thousand words, an animation conveys an idea.
