weeks, they build on this learning and

stories and discussion, we strengthen

our bonds as an interactive group of
friends and learners.
This week, our focus was placed on
getting to know one another though
familiar songs and personal
introductions. Though a challenge for
some in these early days, the children
will come to relax here and build more
confident oral skills and social
relationships.
We explored a range of resources,
which reflected our personal interests.

It was wonderful to meet so many

friendly and enthusiastic children and
families this week.
Thank you for participating in this
transitional process and for assisting
the children to strengthen their sense
of trust and self-confidence at Kindy.
It seems a certainty that the EARLY
INFORMAL PLAYGROUPS provided the
children and parents with important
time to adapt to the space and to build
some new relationships, resulting in
warm and confident connections
emerging.
Having parents to support the ARRIVAL
PROCESS gave the children
considerable support and laid solid
foundations for their continuing

The children were introduced to the

days routines and given every
opportunity to engage with them at
their own pace. Over time, they will
continue to adapt as they come to
recognise this structure and
understand its relevance to them and
to their relationships with each other
and the learning program.
Our CIRCLE TIME is a sharing time, a
place to gather and acknowledge each
other and our shared relationship. It
becomes, in time, an important place
to build our learning experiences for
each day and where through songs,

We talked with familiar playmates and

used our imaginations to expand our
game and attract interest from new
players.

Next week, we will continue building
on the positive start we have
established and look forward to
hearing some of your stories, when
you return next week.

excited to find Golden Orb Spiders in

Until then, you can:

- encourage your child to reflect a little
on some of the experiences they
enjoyed and others they may have
found less comfortable. This teaches
children to become more
discriminating and to identify a range
of feelings they experience. Chatting
together and sharing possible ways for

you better. Bring it along and we will

put it in our introductory photo album
hanging on the deck wall.
Join members of the local
community at the Survival Day
gathering in the park next to the
Tennyson Sea Scouts on the banks of
Oxley Creek and the Brisbane River,
commencing at 7.00am on Australia
Day.
Until next week
Warmest regards,
Anne, Will and Pauline.
