magazine represent
different social groups?

Age groups
In my questionnaire, I asked the ages of my candidates and the majority were
aged 16-18, followed by the category 20-24. So to create a successful
magazine, I aimed to create my indie-pop magazine to represent teenagers
and young adults. The cover lines on my cover include Reading Festival 2015,
which thousands of young adults will go to, and music from Ed
Sheeran to Taylor Swift, which is extremely popular.

Gender
The next question I asked was whether my audience was male or female. The
gender group with the most candidates was female, so I ensured that my
magazine was girly enough, but not over the top.
The font is rounded and fairly girly for parts of the contents
page, however, there are much harsher fonts on there as well
so it has the possibility to appeal to a male audience aswell.

What genre of music do you listen to?

I thought it was extremely important to establish the most popular genre of

music through my questionnaire.

The most popular genre was Pop music with 9 people, followed by Indie with
5.

To make an extremely popular magazine, I thought that I could combine the

two top genres to create a wider audience. To please this audience, I chose a
very stereotypical model of the two genres, and I

How often would you buy the magazine?

The top result in my questionnaire was monthly, so I decided that to create a

successful magazine, Id need to stick to this time frame. However, I did keep
the audience involved in this as there is a page dedicated to next issue
secrets and a page where the audience can decide which artist features next
month. So even if there is a month period between each magazine, the
audience feels as if the next issue is their choice.

Who is your favourite band/artist?

This question is extremely open ended, however the results came

up with Ed Sheeran and Artic Monkeys. These are very indie-pop
musicians, so to keep my audience happy, there would have to be
regular mentions of these two so the audience feel updated with
information. It was key that these artists were featured on the front
cover in order for a wide range of fans to pick the magazine up.
