How I teach pronouns
I set up a learning walk where students
walk around the room to different stations
and read a sentence. They find the
pronoun and then replace it with a noun
which they write in their journals.
Why I teach this way
We had already covered pronouns, but I
could tell my kids needed a little more
practice because they were still
confused. I thought this would be a fun
way to review the concept.
Benefit for students
It keeps them engaged because theyre
moving. It fosters creativity because they
can come up with their own nouns. It
helps them learn how to identify
pronouns and to understand how theyre
used in sentences.

Would you like to share how you teach

a particular concept, lesson, etc.? If
youd like to be profiled in How I
Teach, send an email to Jennifer
Clark.
