Martin Luther King Writing
Their was a leader, a leader who helped African americans fight the the civil rights without a
violent way of doing it. His name was Martin Luther King. I will be writing about his life from
life from his early life through his adult life.
Martin Luther King was born in Atlanta, Georgia in January 15, 1929. His parents were
Alberta Williams King and Martin Luther King, Sr. When Martin Luther King was 15 he was
admitted to the Morehouse College. Throught his time in the Morehouse College he graduated in
1948 with a Bachelor of Art Degree. His grandmother Jennie Celeste died in May 18, 1941. Due
to her death his family moved to 193 Boutevard in Atlanta, Georgia. He onced said Injustice
anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Then, in June 18, 1953 Martin Luther King married Coretta Scott at the age of 24. They had 4
children, they were Yolandin, Martin Luther King III, Dexter, and Bernice. Martin went to the
birth place in India in 1959. A thing that Martin also did was, he organized a boycott of the
Montgomory bus system. A good quote from him was Forgiveness is not an occasional act; it is
a permanent attitude.
In 1957 Martin Luther King, Ralph Abernathy, and 60 ministers and civil rights activists
founded the southern Christian Leadership Conference. On February 1960 a group of American
students began that was known sit-in movement in Greensboro, North Carolina. By 1960
Martin was gaining his national notoriety. Then 3 years later (1963) martin organized a
demonstration in down town Birmingham Albama. In 1964 Martin won his Nobel Peace prize.
The leader was inspired with a non-violent leadership by a man named Mahatma Gandhi. His big
speech was in March, it was said in Washington on 1963. Their were over 250,000 people
hearing him out, it was his I Have a Dream speech.
In conclusion, Martin Luther King was leading an American Civil Rights movement. Martin
Luther King led protests and marches to gain the African rights, over the whole country. Though
he was a great hero, he past away when he was 39. He was assassinated in Memphis Tennesse on
1968. The good thing was that they found his killer James Earl Ray, he was captured a few
months later Martins assassination. He was a good man, atleast now all colored people can be
treated equaly.
