[MULTIPLE INJURIES]

Prognosis
The attending physician, as well as those who will give care and study the
case of a patient with multiple injuries from a gunshot wound or vehicular
accident will come up with prognosis based from the aforementioned
indicators, and justified as follows:
A Knowledge of the disease condition
The diagnosis for this criterion is usually good because it is easy
to understand instructions from the health care providers. The
understanding of the patient and family members can be verified
by a series of questions about the disease or the reenactment of
a procedure to be verified also by the health care provider who
gave out the instructions.
B Extent of the disease
The extent of the disease will depend on the severity of the
affected part of the patient. If it is minimal then the prognosis
will be good. On the other hand, if the affected part of the
patient is severe then the prognosis would not be good and
would further require more therapy either from a physical
therapist or further check up with a physician.
C Availability of medications and compliance
Good, because the medication needed for a patient with multiple
injuries just requires pain relievers and antibiotics for infections.
D Attitude and willingness to take the medications and follow treatment
regimen
The prognosis on this criterion is usually good because adhering
to the treatment regimen would only benefit the patient and the
other family members.
E Family support
Either the case of the patient is mild or severe, it is always a
must to have family members who cooperate to hasten the
recovery of the patient.
