Dashboard Tabs Web Client

Description

Description
A dashboard tab is an element that can contain one or more dashboard modules. RedPrairie products support
these types of tabs:
Default tab Locked tab that contains pre-configured dashboard modules. Although these tabs cannot
be edited or deleted, authorized users can copy them to their or another user's dashboard. Copies of tabs
can be edited or deleted.
Once dashboards are enabled and visible, users logged in with a Super user account can view the default
dashboard tabs. Default dashboard tabs vary, depending on the product that you are using.
User tab Tab that an individual user creates for personal use. This type of tab can only be modified or
deleted by the user that created it. For more information on maintaining user tabs, see Maintain User
Tabs Web Client.
Template tab Tab that a super user creates for a user. This type of tab cannot be modified by an
unauthorized user; but subscribed users can view a template tab and copy it to create a user tab that can
be modified. For more information on maintaining template tabs, see Maintain Template Tabs Web
Client.
Role tab Tab that contains dashboard modules that apply to a specific role. This type of tab can only be
viewed (not modified or copied) by users assigned to that role. For more information on maintaining role
tabs, see Maintain Role Tabs Web Client.
The locked icon (

) is displayed on tabs that can be displayed, but not edited, such as

default tabs, and

template tabs.

Note
If you want to add content to a locked tab, you can copy the tab and then edit the copy.

Dashboard Modules Web Client

Description
Example: Dashboard Module

Description
A dashboard module is an element that contains a chart or grid that displays a visual snapshot of operations at a
given point in time, such as a work status or labor capacity. Modules derive their data from specified data driven
applications (DDAs).
Dashboard modules are available in these widths:
Narrow Appears on the left side of the tab.
Wide Appears on the right side of the tab.

Note
If a narrow module is not used, then a wide module will expand to the width of the tab.

Header Appears across the top of the tab.

Single column Appears in a 3-column format across the tab.
Full width Appears across the width of the tab.
When you add dashboard modules to tabs, you can add default dashboard modules provided with your
installation, or you can add custom dashboard modules that you create using Dashboard Module Maintenance
in the RedPrairie client. When you create a custom dashboard module, you can use Role Maintenance to grant
roles permission to view and use the dashboard modules that you created. For more information on assigning
dashboard access to a role, see Assign Dashboard Access to a Role Web Client.

Assign Dashboard Access to a Role Web Client

Description
Procedure

Description
A role is a category used to group menu options for the purpose of maintaining user authorizations. Once roles
are created, they are assigned to the appropriate user account(s) to control the tasks users are authorized to
perform. As an example, you can create an Administrator role to identify all of the menu options that are needed
to fulfill the duties required for that job. Specific to dashboards, you would ensure that the Administrator role
includes dashboard administration privileges and the ability to access all of the dashboard pages. You would
then assign that role to the user account for the administrators in your facility.

IMPORTANT
You must be logged into the client to perform this procedure.

Procedure
To assign dashboard access to a role

1. From the RedPrairie client, start Authorization Maintenance, and then click

2. On the Role Maintenance window, if desired enter search criteria to limit the number of records that are
retrieved.
3. Click

, and then in the grid view, select the role to which you want to assign dashboard access.
