A succour to the classmate

The staff and students of Research Department of Commerce, St. Thomas


college celebrated Christmas on 19th of December 2014 by handing over an
assistance of love to the family of a final year B.Com Banking student
under the leadership of Social Service Club. The students voluntarily
provided solaces to the family after realising the predicament that he was
in because of his sick parents and financial affliction he faced.
Students made stars and baked cakes on their own and endowed with the
money collected for that purpose, to the fund collected for offering
assistance. Students also contributed money that they received from the
sale of old newspapers which they collected from their home and also
contributed Rs. 4000 that the 1st year B.Com Finance students received as
price money by winning the management meet conducted by M.E.S
Engineering college, kuttipuram and the 1 st year B.Com Banking students
also contributed the cash prize they received after winning the Santa
Claus competition conducted by st. Thomas college as a part of Christmas
celebration and became a model for others. Rs. 80000 in total was
collected from the staff and students of Commerce Department and the
Principal of the college and later the Head of the Commerce Department
Dr.Thomas paul Kattookaran, Prof. Daisyland Thattil, Prof. Sowmia Rajan,
student representatives of B.Com and M.Com classes went out to the
home of the student and handed over the money to the family under the
leadership of the Club Coordinator Prof. Jilna John and shared the perpetual
hope and happiness of Christmas.
