Central Focus or Big Idea of Learning Segment: The central focus of this lesson is
for students to understand the correct form to pass the soccer ball. Students will learn
how to use both of their feet to pass the ball in a game of soccer.
California Content Standard(s):
PE 1.5 Promoting self-directed, reflective learning for all students
PE 2.1 Creating a physical environment that engages all students
PE 2.5 Planning and implementing classroom procedures and routines that
Smartphone or a tablet with an app that measures speed of an object (speed gun).
Students will measure the speed of a soccer ball during the class to compare the speed at
the beginning and at the end of the lesson. After data is collected it will be made into a
graph in Microsoft excel.
