Malaysia.

MOE to bridge the gap in educational
inequalities among pupils.

INTRODUCTION
CONCEPT OF INEQUALITY OF EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY

 Inequality of educational opportunity referred to a situation

where access to education is not evenly distributed to
all residents because of certain factors.
In the Malaysian context, educational inequality may
be due to several factors such as the location of the

school, student background, socioeconomic status,

academic achievement, student interest, the
chances of survival, socialization and language
differences. (Noriati et.al, 2011)

SUGGEST EFFORTS SHOULD BE UNDERTAKEN BY THE MOE TO

CONCLUSION

 One of the ways to reduce the gap between the upper class
with the rest of the population is to increase the
equality of educational opportunity among people
regardless of gender and race.
Efforts have been undertaken by the MOE to close the
achievement gap and inequality digital opportunities
through a number of initiatives outlined in the Development
of Education 2001-2010.
