Sister Lilith Reflection
This twist of the story of creation is a story of black women and the struggle with equality and
power struggle. Through Language and Word choice we imply that the characters are African
American. With that we get a story of creation of man not just the Adam and Sister Lilith his first
wife as well. This story is more relatable and modern and can be sympathized with women. The
woman who just is not felling her husband he takes off and leaves her and comes back and jumps
on top of her. In the third paragraph of the third page Sister Lilith complains begins to complain
about her husband to Satan. He never ask me about my day or my stories. The story of creation
that we read in the bible usually says God created Eve from Adams rib to give Adam a
companion. Eve was tempted by Satan and ate the fruit from the forbidden tree of knowledge;
and then, both Adam and Eve got banned from the Garden of Eden because of Eves sin. With
Liliths sassiness and attitude she insists that she is equal to Adam, unlike the original story in the
bible. I believe that the authors intent for this story was to tell a different story that made women
not look like the stupid, weak character. Instead of being the one who because of her sin
everything went wrong. This story shows a strong mother and wife who is dealing with everyday
issues.
