Dear KG1 Parents,


We would like to thank all of the parents who participated in Parent Engagement Week. It was nice to
have parents in the classroom to learn about center trays, teach the class about their home country
and/or attend the events for International Day. Please take special note of the Upcoming Events this
week. We will celebrate the 100th Day of School on Sunday with in-class activities. There will be NO
SCHOOL for students on Wednesday 18th & Thursday 19th February due to Teacher Professional
Development. We will also be sending home a permission form for our upcoming field trip to Little
Explorers so watch for it in your childs bag and return it promptly. Thank you.

Our Unit of Inquiry How We Express Ourselves


Students have been discussing and learning about our central idea: Through play we express our
feelings and ideas to help us come to new understandings.
This week we will review everything we have learned in our Unit of Inquiry and work on Formative
Assessments.

Language
We will focus on review of previously taught letter sounds this week.
The previously taught letter sounds are Ss, Aa, Tt, Pp, Ii, Nn, Cc, Kk, Ee, Hh, Rr, Dd, Mm, Gg & Oo.
We will also work on various journal entries throughout the week.

Mathematics
Sunday is the 100th Day of School so we will discuss and represent the number 100 in different ways.
We will also work on using Positional Words. Students will be introduced to terms such as on, under,
beside, etc. We will practice using these words and doing activities related to these terms.

This week we will continue learn at Arabic language about Letter : sheen and we will review the two
letters seen & sheen
