SUPPORTING STUDENT LEARNING

Safety Issues to
Consider

Bringing up past friends and family members that have past might make the students sad to be thinking
about them. It might be a little more tough for the students to think and talk about this part of their past.
I am going to show them that everyone has known a person who has past near to them and I will do the same

Have a lot of pictures hung up
around the room showing examples
of the art work we are going to be

about people in their past that have

mourning and celebrating past loved
ones is a good thing to do. I will
give them examples of the project
that we are going to do and to
explain the final project that we
are going to be doing as a class. I
will show them numerous examples
of Quilts and show how it is going
to be made. Show examples of the
original artist that had thought of
this idea. Then bring in Quilts I had
made for me for gifts from friends
and family and each of them
represent me and them in some

had made these Quilts for me and

Teachers Notes for Next Lesson (Is there anything you should remember to do before starting the next
lesson?)
Be sure that there are extra work sheets available for any student who may have missed class or had lost it
before getting it to their parents. Be sure that the power point is ready to go before class and prepared to be
shown and talked about. There are materials that are needed the individual stories and pictures from the
Names Project that we will be using in class. Be sure that those are ready before the class arrives.
