Harmful Video Games
Many kids play violent video games. They play with their friends and have fun. But when
they are done playing, they might feel enraged. They might do something atrocious. Violent
video games are harmful for kids. They can cause kids to be more violent, do something bad, and
it makes kids more aggressive.
Violent video games can cause kids to be more ferocious. An article called, Shooting in
the Dark stated that, The young men who opened fire at Columbine High School, at the movie
theater in Aurora, Colorado, and in other massacres had this in common: they were video gamers
who seemed to be acting out some dark digital fantasy. Many people that have shot and killed
people in massacres play violent video games. After they played, they probably got angry and
wanted to do something bad. They decided to go somewhere with a gun and shoot people.
Violent video games can cause kids to do something bad. An article called Do Games
like Grand Theft Auto V Cause Real- World Violence? stated that, It is possible that someone
who buys and plays the game will later go on to carry out a horrible shooting. Many shootings
have happened after someone played a violent video game. Video games have caused many
people to lose their lives.
Kids that play violent video games are more aggressive than kids that dont. An article
called, Shooting in the Dark stated that, Playing the games can and does stir hostile urges and
mildly aggressive behavior in the short term. When kids play violent video games, it can make

them more aggressive and it may cause them to do something bad. Kids that dont play video
games are nicer than the kids that do and they arent mean to others.
Some people say that there is no connection between video games and violence. An
article called, Essential Facts about Games and Violence stated that, In fact, an analysis by
The Washington Post of the 10 largest video game markets across the globe found no statistical
correlation between video game consumption and gun-related deaths. They say that violent
video games do not cause violence. Some of the people who shot and killed people played
violent video games. Not all of the shootings were caused by video games, but some were. The
killings that were caused by violent video games were horrific and many people lost their lives.
Playing violent video games is bad for kids. Even though they may have fun playing
video games with their friends, it could cause them to do something bad in the future. Violent
video games make kids more ferocious, can cause them to do something bad, and make them
more aggressive than kids that dont play violent video games. Many people have died from
shootings, and violent video games might just cause more shootings. Instead of playing violent
video games, why dont kids go outside and have fun instead?
