Shane Smith: Lightning Empath

Before being struck by lightning, Shane Smith was a professional

actor and owned a production company in New York City. His days
involved production meetings with writers, directors and
producers and working on new projects. Juggling shooting
schedules with the occasional odd job while marketing his shows
to the networks, Shane was also an active member in his church
leading through their entertainment ministry. A busy creative
life also included hanging out with other actors, producers and
celebrity friends. Shane would occasionally leave his busy New
York life and return to Colorado to visit his family in the city
of Fort Collins. It was on one of getaways to his home state,
that his entire life changed forever.

OnJuly 7th, 1997 during ahike on Horsetooth Rock trail, Shane

along with 3 close friends trailed to the top of Horsetooth Rock
at the edge of Fort Collins. It was a long hike and storm clouds
had been gathering. Only Shane and his friend, Kirsti made it to
the top of the rock.

Standing on top of Horsetooth Rock with his friend, lighting

came out of the clouds above and struck the rock. Just before

the strike, Shane heard a buzzing noise and watched as all of

Kirstis long blond hair stood straight up on end, forming a
perfect sphere of hair around her head. Shane then felt a sudden
shock start at the bottom of his feet and travel slowly up
through him. He heard and felt the bones in his body shifting
and popping as the electrical wave of lightning traveled through
his body. Shane watched Kirsti's startled expression change to
complete terror. She witnessed Shanes skin turn pure white
while his eyes literally bugged out of his head. As the
electrical wave finally reached the top of his head, the metal
framed sunglasses Shane was wearing turned red and began to
melt. Shane felt the glasses burning into his head. He pulled
them off and saw the molten metal that had once been his
designer sunglasses, throwing them to the ground. Later, Shane
and Kirsti reasoned that she was spared the strike as she was
shorter and not wearing metal. Shane remembers seeing other
trail hikers crouched down around the Horsetooth rock in fear,
watching Shane's ordeal in terrified awe as it unfolded.

As Shane had not been incapacitated from the strike, he returned

to New York to resume "life as usual." However, within a few
days of being back Shane started to feel as if he had flu

symptoms. Shortly after these symptoms appeared, a depression

set in and thoughts of suicide began to enter his mind. Shane
started to see a psychiatrist to get professional help but his
situation continued to worsen. One day, as he was walking down
the street, Shane experienced a lapse in memory. He did not know
where he was going nor could he remember where he lived.
Fortunately, on this day a friend was with him and helped him
get back home. On other days when this happened, Shane would
have to sit down and think through where he was and take a
chance that he could get himself back home. About the same time
as the onset of depression, Shane also started feeling physical
pain all throughout his body. A searing pain would shoot through
his body making even the smallest tasks into huge obstacles. On
days when the severity of the pain was less intense, it allowed
Shane to have some semblance of a normal life. However, his
condition continued to degrade. Soon Shane needed to walk with
two canes in order to keep his balance. Finally Shane's anxiety
and depression led him to inflict pain on himself in a desperate
attempt to feel something besides the torment that had become
his daily life.

As Shane was no longer able to take care of himself, he returned

to his parents home in Colorado. It was when he saw a specialist
in Loveland, Colorado that he learned that the lightning blast
had rotated his pelvis and pushed his vertebrae into his head,
causing spinal fluid to begin gelling in his brain. This symptom
led to the misaligning of almost all of the skeletal plates in
his skull. The specialist informed Shane he had two years to
live from complications of his condition if he did not get the
necessary treatments. At this time Shane's debilitation was so
severe, he could barely speak or put a sentence together. Shane
proceeded with the treatments which included chiropractic,
cranial sacral, acupuncture, Reiki, homeopathic remedies.

Today Shane has made a 95% recovery. He still suffers from

occasional pain, depression and memory loss, but his quality of
life has dramatically increased. He is now able to actively run
a real estate business while focusing on helping others with his
psychic abilities.

Even though Shane had empathic abilities before being hit by

lightning- sensing spirits, precognitive dreams and reading
peoples energy, his gifts dramatically increased after the

lightning strike. Now Shane is able to see spirits in detail and

hear their thoughts. He can also vividly feel the emotions of
those around him . When addressing cases of missing people, he
can see, feel and hear what happened to the victim as though it
were happening to him. In cases where there is a perpetrator,
Shane can pick up their thoughts and feelings as well.He is
excited to share his gifts with those seeking help, insight and
peaceful closure.
