My web resources are listed below with descriptions.
Teacher Web Resources:
o http://www.studenthandouts.com/
This website is very useful for teachers because it has
many different activity ideas that you can do with your students, but also it has free printouts of the follow up worksheet to do after the activity or charts that go along with the activity. The student handouts website has ideas for all grade levels (K-8) and in all subjects.
o http://education.nationalgeographic.com/education/lesson/? ar_a=1
This website helps teachers plan engaging science lessons.
There are many activities that can be used to help students grasp science concepts. Most of the lessons are hands on and can be converted to fit certain standards of learning.
o http://agintheclass.org/
This website comes equipped with full lesson plans to help
teachers plan lessons that students will love. It also comes with free resources and newsletters that can help teachers engage their students and have inquiry based lessons.
Student Web Resources:
o http://www.learner.org/interactives/parkphysics/parkphysics.html
This website/game is a fun way for students to learn about
force and motion. They learn through building their own roller coaster. This seems like something that students would enjoy because it is fun but they also have to take into account the math and science behind building a roller coaster.
o http://climatekids.nasa.gov/
This website is easy to navigate for students. It is equipped
with lots of games but also just basic science information on the water cycle, plants, animals, etc. There are many different links and activities that the students can use to further their science knowledge.
o http://discoverykids.com/
I really liked this discovery kids website because it had
many different science activities that students could do but they were all different parts of science, not based on the same type of science. The kids could play games or even just read about the different topics on the page. There are also educational videos that they could watch. This site would be very beneficial to use in my classroom.
