During Class:
Monday: Reading Day
1. This is the day to work individually or with your table to answer questions from textbook readings,
artifacts, pictures, or other literature. There will either be pages from the textbook written on the
board or you will be handed the artifacts.
2. You will have the class period to complete the questions and I will be walking around to help.
3. When finished place your answers in the Turn-In bin on my desk.
4. Once they are all handed in we will have a short discussion about your thoughts on the readings.

Classroom Rules:
I do not have that many rules listed because you are all high school students. You are old enough and have
been doing this long enough to know what you should and should not be doing. Here are some though
that I find the most important for your success in my class and for things to run smoothly:
!1.
Be Prepared! If you are not prepared how will you be able to learn?
1. Be sure you have your notebook, pens, pencils, book, and any other materials I may ask you to
bring.
2. On Monday and Tuesday nights make sure you watch the podcast so you are ready for the flipped
classroom activity.
1. If you do not have a way to view the podcast come speak with me and we will figure something out.
2. Respect Everyone: and you will be respected.
1. There will be a lot of discussion and debate in this class. That means you need to
respect
others opinions, beliefs, and ideas.
1. I understand that debates can get heated sometimes. It is your responsibility to be in control
of yourself and the words you say.
2. I have a zero tolerance policy for bullying of any form. If I hear you bullying another student you
will be sent to the office.
3. Effort + Practice = Success!
1. History doesn't always come easy to everyone but if i see you putting forth effort when it comes
to the material I will be more willing to workout extra credit for the class.
2. The more you practice the easier things become. Classwork can seem tedious but if you practice
the material often the better you will succeed.
!!
!*If rules are not followed there will be consequences. As your teacher it is my job to ensure everyone has
a safe and fun environment to learn in. Consequences can be anywhere from a 0 for the day to being sent
to the office. When the rules are followed that means we can have fun while learning and work toward the
best you you can be.
