February 2015
President's Note - Bridget Beal

Event Spotlight: Snowman Craft

January was a fun month in our household. We were insanely busy

juggling five different schedules getting back into the normal routines
after the break.

The kids had a great time creating their own snowmen! They glued
construction paper bodies onto poster board and then added all sorts of
fun things like buttons, sequins, and puff balls to their creations. We also
enjoyed reading the book Snowballs by Lois Ehlert. Its a really cute and
well illustrated book about snow!

Joe and I were able to sneak away from the chaos and spend three nights
away in Bend. I haven't actually spent any time in Bend so it was nice to
explore the town and all the wonderful restaurants and breweries. We
also were able to spend the day snowboarding, which is mine and Joe's
favorite hobby to do together.
The highlight was Stella's second birthday! We had so much fun
celebrating her (for most of the month!). She is totally two! She is talking
up a storm and of course her favorite word is NO. She is very active and
into everything. She is certainly a joy in our lives and we can't believe
how quickly time has past (ugh, how clique).

MOMS Club of Springfield, OR

I was happy that I was able to reserve a meeting room through

Springfield City Hall. Its the perfect venue for craft meetups. The
Springfield City Hall has a few meeting rooms right next to the
Springfield Public Library. This is free of charge and you dont have to be
a resident of Springfield to apply. You just have to fill out a short form
and confirm that your desired date and time is available with the City
Hall Managers Office. Contact AJ Ripka at 5417263700 or
aripka@springfieldor.gov.

Club Highlights from January

Ingredients:
1 box chocolate cake mix (I used Duncan Hines dark chocolate fudge)
1/2 cup oil
2 egs
1 tsp vanilla extract

(/uploads/1/2/4/6/12464424/4802446_orig.jpg)
(/uploads/1/2/4/6/12464424/6806867_orig.jpg)
(/uploads/1/2/4/6/12464424/1871452_orig.jpg)

Mix together, it will be a little sticky so I just plopped each scoop

straightinto the powdered sugar,
coated it, then dropped it on the sheet. I baked mine at 375 for 12
minutes. Enjoy!

Part of the support we have in MOMS Club of Eugene is helping each

other during times of upheaval and stress. This is not just limited to
having a baby, things like moving or illness in the family also warranta
need for this program. Our Helping Hands program provides moms with
assistance, usually givingseveral meals in a time of need. However, this
program can provide more than just meals. We can arrange assistance
with childcare, running errands, even a phone tree! We want all of our
members tobenefit from this program in a time of need and we are more
than willing to customize an assistanceschedule that works well for each
situation. Please let us know if a circumstance should arise in your
life and you feel this program would help you! Our Helping Hands
Coordinator is Kami Hendrix and she canbe reached at (541) 5135132
