Definition of INT

My definition of interdisciplinary is when you combine two or more disciples that you are
interested in together. Also, develop the ability to make connection and make decisions to solve
complex problems. It could be two majors that could be similar in what they study. Doing
interdisciplinary study puts what you are interested in in two subjects together and you are able
to studies the main concepts of the studies.
The metaphor I would use to explain interdisciplinary studies when it comes to the disciplines
of exercise and sciences would be a bottle of Italian dressing. The exercise part would be the oil,
and the science part would be the herbs and vinegar. They continue to be two separate
disciplines until there is a need to pull them together in a science setting such as with exercise
science. Metaphorically speaking Interdisciplinary studies is a salad; one can put whatever they
want in it to make it whole. Like a salad, Interdisciplinary studies takes individual elements and
coalesce the various curriculum's in order to create something totally different as one would with
lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and various other ingredients.
