Saeid Sultanpour: (Born

1941, Executed 1982) was a


legendary leftist poet and
playwright. He was one of
the

most

popular

and

inspiring poets among the


young

revolutionaries

during Pahlavi era. He is


also one of the founders of Iranian Writers Association, a group that had been
long banned in Iran due to their objection to censorship and encouraged
freedom of expression.
He was arrested and severely tortured before the revolution 1979. After
revolution he became the leftist candidate for parliament and harshly
criticized the Islamic regime.

Death: In 15 April, 1982, he was arrested at his wedding and after 66 days
of torture was executed and buried unknown.
