Q1. What would be the throat thickness of the 6mm weld if fusion face has angle 1000.
Q2. Find the design strength of 6mm shop fillet weld per mm length of weld. Take fu = 410 N/mm2.
Q3. Two plates are connected by a pair of fillet welds as shown. Find the size of the weld required if
16mm plate is subjected to a pull of 2.5kN per mm width.

Q4. What is the minimum and maximum size of the fillet weld for following cases:

If two plates 6mm thick are to be lap joined by fillet weld.

If plates 10mm and 12mm thick are to be lap joined.
If ISA 75 X 75 X 8mm is connected to gusset plate through fillet weld along the longitudinal axis.

Q5. What is the effective throat thickness for groove weld for following case:

If a single groove weld is provided to connect two plate thickness of 18mm and 16mm.
If Double groove weld is provided to connect two plate thickness of 18mm and 16mm.
