    WhatwouldyoutellanotherstudentiftheyaskedwhytheMUNprojectwasimportant?

    TheMUN,atleastforme,isaveryimportantprojecttogaveunderyourbelt,andhereiswhat
    Idtellastudentshouldtheybequestioningitsimportance.MUNprovidesyouwiththe
    knowledgeofhowmostinternationalissuesarehandled,andnotonlythatbutitalsoprovides
    newskillstolearn,suchasDebateCollaborationskills.Forexample,throughoutboththe
    practiceconferenceandtheexhibition,Iwascreatingcriticalstrategieswithmyclosest
    politicalallies,aswellasdebatingwithothercountriesinattemptstochangetheirideasor
    Resolution.Youalsolearn(atleastyoushould)way,waymoreabouttheinnerdetailsofthe
    countrythatyouareassignedto.IlearnedmoreaboutItalyinthisprojectmorethanI
    probablyeverwillinanyotherproject.IlearnedthattheyarecurrentlyinaGreatRecession,
    aswellasthefactthattheyhaveaverypooreconomy.Allinall,thisprojectwillimprove
    manyofyourHOHAMskills,aswellasgiveyouessentialinformationabouthowinternational
    affairsarehandled.

    2.Thinkofthisprojectoverallwhichhabitofmindwereyoumostproudofusingduringtheconference?

    TheHOHAMthatIammostproudofusinginthisprojecthasbeenEvidence.Throughoutthis
    projectIhavebeengatheringandcollectingevidenceforthefinalconferenceandmyspeech
    inthatconference.Inthebeginningofmyspeechitstates:Thiswarhaslastedforover60
    years,andhascostthelivesofover110.000people,91,000ofthosepeoplebeing
    Palestinians.Thisreallysetthetonefortherestofmyspeech,andIwasalsoasked
    numerousquestionsregardingthisevidence.ThemostmemorablequestionthatIwasasked
    befromIndia,andsheaskedYoustatedthatmorePalestinianshavedied,andbecauseof
    thisdoyoufeelthattheselivesaremoreimportant?AndmyresponsewasNo.Italy
    believesthatallliveslostinthiswarareofequalimportance.

    3.Whatwasthegreatestchallengeyoufacedintheprojectandhowdidyouworkthroughit?

    Thegreatestchallengeformeinthisprojectwouldbemyperseverance.Manytimes
    throughoutthisproject,Ioftenfeltoverwhelmedandbatteredbytheamountofworkwehad

    todo.EspeciallyduringthecountryresearchwehadtodofortheIsraeliPalestinianissue,I
    missedacoupledaysandhadmanyextracurriculareventshappeningoutsideofschool,Ifelt
    thatIhadnotimeandjustcouldntkeepupbutthenIwouldcalmdownandtakeastep
    back,andthenifIreallydidnthaveenoughtimeoutsideofschooltofinishtheworkassigned,
    thenIdgotomyteacherandaskforanextension,andthenIwouldgetoneandbeableto
    perseverethroughthoseissues.

    4.Whatwasthemostinterestingspeech,resolution,amendment,orcommentbyoneofthedelegates?

    Themostinterestingeventthatoccuredformewouldbealltheamendmentsmadetowards
    Resolution2C.Notonlydidonly3peopleactuallyhaveresolution2Cintheirspeeches,it
    alsoofferedoneoftheLessrealisticsolutionstotheissue.However,duringthe
    unmoderatedcaucusthedelegatesswarmedthatresolutionwithamendmentsforreasonsI
    donotknow.But,intheenditonlyreceivedmaybe4votes,andIfindthisalltobevery,very
    intriguing.
